Spring:
the time for rejuvenation, life to renew and beauty to bloom.
What better time for a makeover? This season, it’s not about
one style that’s “in,” but finding a style and shape that works
for you. Mid-length hair is the new long; long hair is down to
about collarbone to the middle of the back. Anything longer
than that isn’t fashionable. Across the country, hairstyles
have beautiful texture and lots of movement. Color is discreet
and subtle in tones that are rich, shiny and naturally warm.

New short styles
are sophisticated and stylish but very wearable; in other words,
they look high maintenance but they’re not. One look we’re
seeing a lot is a modified bob at chin length or higher. It’s a
fresh, modern take on the classic style. Where the current
shape differs is that hair is fuller in the crown and tighter at
the nape of the neck. Also, layers and texture work to create
more movement and volume throughout the cut for a softer fall at
the base. New trends in color and texture add to the excitement
of these innovative looks.

Long hairstyles
show a mix of textures. Relaxed waves and curls are very
popular. For a new twist on curls, try wrapping a section of
hair around a one-inch flat iron to achieve an imperfect curl
for loose, sexy texture.
In straight styles,
long layers create volume and movement. Long bangs and fringe
in the front frame the face and add interest to a long, straight
style.
