June 2007 Well I may not be in the USA at the moment in body, but my face is, the new Jerome Russell hair color product they used me for is now in the shops, Walgreen's are the main stockist, Look Here
They have altered the picture a bit, prefer the original to be honest, but hey, beggars cannot be choosers. I am still missing my little dog I adopted, I still have him in kennels there getting looked after by Mary at Hendon's in Orlando, she really is a star and sends me pics every month of him. I have
been working at a real estate office recently gaining more experience, so a big hi to Lou and Emma. That's all for now, enjoy your summer and to all my US fans have a great July 4th, x
April - May 2007 Back
in the good old UK and I have found myself a new job as well as trying to look
after everything back in Florida, I have decided to try Real Estate or Estate
Agents as they are known in the UK. Well not many shows to do here, a lot less modeling work unless you want to do topless page 3 stuff which is not really me,
wish I was 5'10 for runway. Anyway thought I would get more experience for my
future endeavours in real estate and interior design, they don't nickname me the
sponge for nothing, I apparently like to gather knowledge so all my close
friends tell me, that cannot be a bad thing, can it?. Not been out much, no
parties or real gossip to tell really, got myself a new apartment in Leeds and
been traveling back and forth to London a few times, missing my dog Jasper like
crazy, he has had to have blood work done so he can travel internationally, feel
really guilty that he is coup up in the kennels in Florida not being able to see
his mum and dad, I have to keep working to pay his vet & boarding fees, they do
keep sending me pics of him though which keeps me going, cannot wait for the day
I can go back and see him, I think the shock of the weather here as well as
having to do quarantine would not be fair to him. There is a slight chance I may
be moving, my other half Jerry is in dialog with a company who want some work
doing, it will mean moving to Costa Rica though, a lot warmer than here and only
3 hours from Florida, if this comes off then I can have my little boy flown down
to be with me, Now that would be a dream come true for 2007. I still want to do
studies for my interior design course, preferably in the US, if they ever let me
back in, I hate red tape, I know that I am a Yorkshire lass and my roots are
here in the UK, but I was the happiest I have ever been when I was traveling
back and forth to my home in Florida, it was a great place to rest and
recuperate from being poorly, relaxing and of course I had my little dog jasper
to fuss over me. Another point I would like to mention is the demise of this
cities great football club, Leeds United, it really is a shame and feel it will
be a long time before we grace the premiership again. A lot of people are now
vying for the chance to buy it from the administrators, some of them if only the
people new what they had done to the club in previous years ripping it off and
kicking it while it was down would not be champion them to buy it and get
involved. Obviously know too much to mention on here as i was around the in
those circles for a time and saw some of the things that went on, shameless. It
was nice to see Alan Smith back from his bad injury, I like Smudge even though
he is at Manchester United, he is a Leeds lad at heart and it takes a lot of
balls to come back from that injury to play in Europe and get a call up for the
England squad. Anyway off for now, keep your fingers crossed for me at the
specialists for a check up next week, I dont think i could cope anymore if there
is another problem. Keep safe, Love to all. X
Feb - March 2007 At this moment in time to say I'm pissed
would be an understatement, I have just arrived back from the US Embassy in
London were I went to try and get my I20 Student visa to study (see January)
having been accepted as I was last year, but could not do it due to my well
documented illness, I was over the moon to be offered another placement so I
could study my hobby of 5 years Interior Design in the USA. I fully intended
putting my personal modeling career on hold so I can concentrate on my studies
and graduate with my degree. Well and I have no argument apparently, some idiot
in Atlanta has it down that I am already married and a load of other cock and
bull taboo and thinks I have no intention of studying at all and trying to get
in to the US to stay there, so refused my visa and they will not give me another
as they think I will not come back to the UK. Now anyone that knows me well
knows I am very much a family girl, I hate being away long and not seeing my
family, that said they thought I had very few ties with the UK, well two retired
parents, my father is registered blind, two brothers, nephews and niece as well
as my future family and friends, a house to pay for and bills, how much do these
people want? So thank you America for making my life and dreams a misery, I
could understand it if they thought I might be a threat to the country,
especially in this day and age, but, they don't except buts. Okay I cannot
study, I do have some very good friends there who work in the model, film and
entertainment business so I am going to link up with a few to do a International
model and staffing agency, you will see the US office on my front page. I am
going to concentrate my energies on this side of the pond and Europe, I will be
travelling less now for assignments unless I have to and taking on more
professional staff and aspiring models this end for the UK & EEC marketplace and
letting my co directors look after the N.American office based in Orlando. I
will still hopefully be able to do the odd model job and any TV, Film work that
comes my way as long as it's not in America, sometimes wished I married Tom
Cruise, would not have this trouble.
Oct - January 2007 A new year is upon us all
already, were does time go? Well it has been a very eventful time, firstly on my
travels in November I managed to get to Atlanta airport in the USA and got
refused entry as they said I had been in the states too many times and would
have to review and change my visa status, very nice, just got off a 10 hour
flight and 4 hours later was back home on a flight to the UK. I wanted to be
back in the US to look for a decent college or university to start my studies
for Interior Design, I had been offered a placement the year before but had to
turn it down due to my illness, but I did spend time recuperating there that
year, may be I outstayed my welcome, better chilling in the sun than freezing
cold England. Anyway back in the UK doing what I do with my mum & family, I have
been searching once again for a study course and university to do my degree and
would love that to be in the USA, I just love the place. I have had colleges who
have stated an interest in me studying there, now it will be up to the US
Immigration so fingers crossed, if all goes well modeling will be taking a back
burner as I will be striving to achieve my goal at Uni. I will still be doing
the odd shoot in Europe as I have been booked for work for nearly a year, that
will make me weary, once you get refused to a country and go back your thinking
shit, will they let me back in. Elsewhere, the coffee company I do work for in
Canada and worldwide has had a great scoop, for those of you who dabble in
investments, check this out
www.coffeepacifica.com they have just done a deal to sell Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee direct from the growers, shares rising and a very forward looking company
July - Sept 2006 Hey guys, seems ages since I have had
time to write, so apologies are in hand, ,what's been going on? loads, I have
been to Europe and back, working and studying like hell. I have decided to try
and take my realtors exam, a few reasons really, I actually am interested in
Real Estate inside & outs, thought it would complement my interior decorating
and design knowledge too. Me and Partner have got together with a broker in
Orlando, had some real estate websites done which are doing really well,
unfortunately we cannot earn anything from these until we pass the exam and get
out licenses, but the broker is over the moon, not for long though, he will have
to start paying me instead very shortly. It's a lot tougher than I thought it
would be, anyway you can checkout my new site if you wish
www.OrlandoHomesNetwork.com
if you see anything and decide to buy, tell them Kim sent you:-) also for the
more discerning customer
www.MillionDollarListing.us these are my wish for the future, well if
you work hard and get a bit of luck, why not. My illness of the past seems to
have all cleared up, fingers crossed, in honesty it has been hard to get it out
of my head, you still keep thinking it might just creep back in there, not good,
thought I might need a therapist, now I know I am getting more American:-) only
joking, Its just that us Brits are a very strong nation with crap like that,
life goes on and you have to make the best of it, you cannot change yesterday,
only today and tomorrow. Trade show season is back upon us in Orlando, so should
be working lots, I think I have pissed a few agencies off with my web presence
as I get quite a few offers from here, but not been getting too many from them,
heard it was because they see me as a threat to them on the net, as ever life is
not a bed of roses, luckily I have some great clients who keep me going. I am
also looking forward to my brother coming to see me in September/October for a
few weeks, he loves it here and would love to stay, wish I could help more, but
the government don't make it easy for us, you would think Brits would be ok,
after all we are the US's biggest alley, but no, we are treated exactly the same
if not worse at times, well on the immigration front anyway. I love it here, but
my only beef is that most cannot see the woods for the trees, all about dollars,
keep telling them to change the national anthem to the land of the greed,
because that is how it seems, funny though most agree with me, a lot of the
people I have met in the last 2 years are that way, all short term gain,
frustrates the shit out of me, don't want to invest a dollar until they get
hundred first, well that's life and everyone is different, I 'll get of my soap
box now, not diplomatic enough to be a politician. Anyway had my shout for a
while, stay safe and happy, keep in touch, love Kim xx.
June 2006 What's new this month? well let me tell you, if
you ever go into your hairdressers in the US and look on the shelves at the
products they sell, you just might see a familiar face you know:-) Jerome
Russell hair products just launched a new line in San Diego at the hair show
with yours truly on the front, not quite the other yet, because your worth it,
but JR are huge in the trade market, you will also find these is Walgreens, CVS
etc. On the work front, I have been involved with the NSA this month, National
Sheriffs Association, never seen as many law enforcement officers all in one
place, but a great set of guys and looking forward to being invited again next
year. The too was US Pension Funding, a great company with a unique product, if
your in the armed forces of any kind check them out. Another great company I
came across and worked with was Tempo Guard, if anyone has ever had Hurricane
damage to there roofs etc, these people are must, fantastic product and stops
leaks too, a great big thank you to Cindy & Peter, you guys were a blast and I
look forward to meeting up again very shortly. On something totally different,
as many of you will know my passion after modeling is Interior Design and
Decorating, well I have got together with a new company here in Orlando were I
get a chance to use these talents, I am back studying, reading and getting some
new ideas and hands on experience, a new challenge yet again, but one I am
really looking forward to, so if your in need of a makeover at your home drop me
a line, i would love to help you out. Take care, stay safe, speak soon X
April & May 2006 Firstly apologies for the late update,
Not known to many people & fans but after my operation last year for the dreaded
C it came back again, I have had my second operation and glad to say after my
visit to the specialists last week in the UK for another check up all is now
definitely clear. You cannot believe until you have been in the situation what
it does to people, you constantly think about it and wonder if your going to
live or die, its a total head F--k. That is why I am starting a collection for
cancer research. I have been one of the lucky ones, some are not so lucky, we
can do more to help find cures and I want to help. If anyone wishes to donate to
this great cause, check out my front page. On a brighter note, I am back working
again, a bit heavier than I would like, I had to stop working out as I was so
knackered, but fighting fit now and ready to get into shape again. A big thank
you to the Director of Thunder over Reno Mitch Carly and all the cast, I was
very sorry to have to pull out for the above reasons but these kind folks have
invited me to the Red Carpet Premier, I am sure we will get together in the near
future on another film project. I was in Vegas a few weeks back with my Coffee
Pacific crew at the money show, guys another brilliant time and what a place.
Closer to home in Orlando, I have got together with a great company and owner,
an ex model Andrea Patrick Forte & Patrick Talent, it is great to be working
with someone who has been there and done it all and pulls out all the stops in a
professional manner, not many of them around, take it from me, I am sure we will
be together for a long while to come. I was also hoping to move homes in May but
this fell through at the last minute, so if anyone is looking for a new 6 bed
4.5 bath home around Orlando let me know:-) I will probably see a few of you on
my travels in the next month or so, Denver, Vegas and possibly a trip to India
is on the cards, Lastly a big thank you to the Sheriff & Police Department at
the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando for the phone calls of support
and there help when called upon, Thanks Guys, you know who you are, see you all
soon I am sure at another trade show. That's it for now, enjoy your summers and
we will speak soon. Love & Hugs xxxx
March 2006 Things hopefully will keep getting better and
better, I have just landed my first Film supporting role which starts shooting
in Nevada in June. It is called Thunder in Reno. I play a spoilt bitch, which
should be easy:-) A big thank you goes out to Mitch for having faith in me, I am
sure he will be happy with the end result. It's a little like Top Gun, only with
old planes racing and competing over the desert, the music track is awesome too,
so watch out for it, you heard it here first folks. I have worked with some
great companies this month and really enjoyed myself, Samsung, Direct TV &
Gilden to name a few, thanks guys for making my job so easy, i look forward to working with you all again very soon.
February 2006 Off to a great start people, been put on
the books of a major agency in Miami so looking forward to working towards great
things for both of us. Been booked for my first show in Las Vegas, a place I
always wanted to visit so looking forward to that a great deal and been having
my usual fun at some great conventions, the builders, surf, money, PGA, car &
sportswear to name a few, not forgetting NASCAR at Daytona 500 watching 200mph
machine do there stuff Brilliant, my youngest brother Craig would be in his
element, he's a car nut and speed freak. I would also like to mention a certain
company who have been brilliant to me since we worked together, I must of
impressed and they must like me as they sent me shares in the company as a
bonus, thanks Lionel, so people if you ever require top quality or gourmet
coffee go to this address, tell them Kim sent you
www.coffeepacifica.com I will
be seeing you soon guys. Back to the UK beginning of next month for a shoot and
to see my mum & family so will catch with you all on my return. Take care XX
January 2006 Well another new year, I hope it brings you
all health and happiness, for me, well it is back to the grindstone, photo
shoots, conventions and hopefully a bit of TV work this year. 2005 was not my
best one on the personal front with the illness and moving home, but I am
settled now and healthy and looking forward to everything that life can throw at
me. I have already started, a couple of photo shoots, I hope you like the new
pics, I do and back to the bread butter trade shows and conventions, I do enjoy
them though, it gives me a chance to meet new people and pit my wits against the
competition, I'm not really bitchie, but I do realize how good I am at my job when I
see others in my profession. I have quite few jobs lined up, a few good agencies
on my side so lets hope we all get what we wish for in 2006, speak soon Kim xx
